Where the Real World is Your Classroom
At the Tombras School of Advertising and Public Relations, not only do we provide high-quality education and valuable hands-on learning, we also encourage students to develop their Volunteer spirit. From internships and service-learning, to special community engagement initiatives, our school produces well-rounded graduates who are ready to not just enter the world and succeed, but will make a genuine impact on their communities and the world.
There’s a lot to do at CCI, especially at ADPR. Everyone wants to see you succeed—your peers, your professors. There’s just always opportunities to get involved. Every class that you take, you’re learning a new skill that you can apply to the real world.

Community Engagement
Serving our community is part of our mission as a land-grant institution, and at the Tombras School of Advertising and Public Relations, we are doing that through various initiatives. Our school is the first-ever named school at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and the Tombras name honors the legacies of Charles Tombras, Sr. and Charles Tombras, Jr., and the indelible imprint the Tombras agency has made on the industry. The Tombras School’s current and on-going work represents our commitment to embodying the Volunteer spirit and ensuring our school is inclusive, diverse, and enriching the community around us.

Tombras Touchpoints
The Tombras School of Advertising and Public Relations’ Touchpoints are community-based initiatives serving students and young professionals as they explore, study and begin careers in advertising and public relations.
These touchpoints are carefully designed to provide opportunities for all students, especially those of marginalized and underrepresented groups. These touchpoints include many initiatives, such as: workshops, tours, and talks for high school and middle school groups; the Future Educator Fellowship for doctoral students; mentorship programs connecting college students with industry professionals; and guest speakers and workshops for Tombras students.
