About AdClub

AdClub is a student-run organization that provides students with a social experience outside of the classroom. By joining AdClub, students inside and outside of the major get the chance to meet and interact with advertising professionals, talk about supplemental topics not covered in traditional advertising classes, learn about internships and the latest trends in advertising.

AdClub’s mission is to prepare students, advertising or not, for the vast world of communications by providing resources, guest speakers, and events to connect people with the industry.

While our meetings are open-forum, members get a few perks:

  • Those that register in the early fall will receive a t-shirt
  • Access to our email list where we send out announcements and important club info
  • Graduating seniors will get a cord
  • Members are also eligible to apply for officer roles during spring elections

Are you considering advertising as a profession?

Getting into the advertising industry is more than just making creative posters and winning big bids with clients; it can connect you with any industry you’re interested in.

With the recent gift from The Tombras Group, UTK’s School of Advertising and Public Relations will feature a state-of-the-art curriculum to prepare students for the vast array of advertising opportunities, such as media planning/buying, creative, production, strategy and research, management, and creating your own campaign.

Even if you don’t want to work in advertising (ad for short) agencies, your skills will act as a transformative agent throughout your career — allowing you to pivot in one of many directions. Some students will go into sports management, others go into media, buying, or research, others might just become their own business owners or CEO of a company.

AdClub is here to help guide you through your options and be your lens into the industry without the commitment of a full-time job. Be bold, and experience advertising from behind the scenes. Check out the 2021-22 Advertising Major curriculum.
