Dwayne Summar Essay Contest 2016 Award Winners

PR Students Win Dwayne Summar Essay Contest

In September of 2010, Dwayne Summar (1961, PR), established the Dwayne Summar Essay Contest to acknowledge exceptional students who are members of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). Summar had a long and distinguished career in public relations serving as VP of the Southern Company and Senior VP of Hill & Knowlton, Atlanta. Summar also served as the National President of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) in 1988.

A longtime supporter of UT, Summar received the first Distinguished Alumni Award in 1994 from what was then called the College of Communications at the University of Tennessee.

We would like to congratulate Elizabeth Rosenthal, a junior from Memphis, Hunter McClure, a sophomore from Kingston, TN, and Katherine Gaul, a senior from Rutledge TN for their winning essays. Each student will receive a scholarship for the upcoming school year.
