Professor Eric Haley is the recipient of the 2016 Distinguished Alumni Scholar Award from the University of Georgia, Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. Eric holds three degrees (BS, MS, and Ph.D.) from the University of Georgia.
Eric Haley is an award winning teacher and researcher. While he primarily teaches graduate and undergraduate advertising courses, Haley has taught the College’s core doctoral classes. His research interests include issues of advertising and society, advocacy advertising and account planning.
Haley is an expert in qualitative research. He presently serves as the Editor-in-Chief for Journal of Current Issues and Research in Advertising, and is the executive adviser for the journals of the American Academy of Advertising. Dr. Haley also works to provide great experiences for our students such as the annual professional development tour of New York City advertising businesses.
Professor Haley will receive the award in Athens, Georgia on Friday, May 6 accompanied by his mother and his niece who presently attends UGA. Haley noted, “It’s quite an honor to be recognized by my former teachers at Grady, many of whom are among the leading scholars in our field.“
