Our first Public Relations Student Spotlight, is Catherine Marie Willis from Murfreesboro, TN.

As a Senior here at UT she is pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Communication. She majors in Public Relations and minors in Business Administration. She hopes to continue her education at The University of Tennessee for graduate school. While in high school Catherine discovered she had a passion for working with others as well as a strong interest in media.  High school is where she found PR to be a great fit for her.

She has enjoyed the closeness among the students and professors within the school of Advertising and PR.  Willis has developed bonds with her classmates that have extended outside just the classroom. She believes this comes from the atmosphere in the classroom and the teaching staff. She talked highly of each PR teacher she has, but said that after studying abroad in Urbino, Italy with Dr. Candace White, she was able to develop a bond with her. She finds Dr. White incredibly knowledgeable in the field of PR and equally fun to travel abroad with.

Catherine is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, Public Relations Intern at Mary Beth West Communications, LLC, and also serves as the PRSSA, Sammie Lynn Pruett chapter Co-Vice president. Catherine is a remarkable leader in and out of the classroom.

Fun Fact:  She has never broken a bone in her body.
